Katie Fee’s musical journey began in her hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she grew up surrounded by the sounds of '90s country icons like Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Deana Carter. These early influences ignited her passion for music, and in the fall of 2017, Katie made the move to Nashville to pursue her dreams. She enrolled at Belmont University, where she studied music business, immersing herself in the vibrant songwriting community of Music City.
While she fuses influences of past and present, country, pop, and Americana, the South Dakota native still strives to stay true to country music’s storytelling roots. Whether writing about love, heartbreak, or life’s simple pleasures, Katie crafts songs that take listeners on a journey, with lyrics that resonate long after the song ends.
In July 2021, Katie released her debut EP Sunsets and Fireworks, followed by her full-length album Runaway Heart in October 2023. The album earned great reviews and was nominated for Country Female Album of the Year at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards.
Katie’s music is more than just a passion—it's a way of life. Her love for travel has taken her across the country, from South Carolina to Minnesota, and as far as the Wild West Songwriters’ Festival in Deadwood, SD. On the road, she connects with fans and fellow musicians alike, building a community of listeners who share her appreciation for heartfelt, authentic country music.
Most recently, Katie released her EP, Whiskey & Sunsets, in late February 2026. This latest project puts together all of the music she released in 2025 along with one brand-new track that signals where her sound is headed next.
If you're reading this, hi! Thank you for checking out my music. As an independent artist, I don't have a label financially backing my career. That being said, it can sometimes take a long time to save up the money to put new a project out into the world. I've been working towards putting out my next album for over two years now, but given the costs of production and promotion, it may be a while before I can release another full-lengthed album. If you'd like to help fund my music, please click the link below to donate via Venmo or PayPal and put "album fund" in the description. If you've read this far and you are not in a financial situation where you can donate but still want to help, free ways to help include following my on social media, engaging with my posts, streaming my music, and sharing it with others.
